Wylie Brothers
Missy Wylie was tragically taken from us earlier this year. The light of Missy’s life was being a Mother to her sons Charlie and Pierson. Since it was their father who committed this senseless act, these boys (one in college and the other in elementary school) are now without parents to provide for them.
They are not without love, guidance and a host of caregivers and friends.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, where Missy taught the Youth Group in Sunday School, has been a tremendous blessing to this family. Checks continue to come from family, friends and strangers.
Many individuals and groups are raising money to help with the everyday needs of life, while others are raising awareness of the sometimes quiet storm of domestic violence.
Today, friends of Missy’s will hold the first ever Wylie Boys Musical Benefit-with live music, food and beverages, t-shirt sales and more.
I hope this project grows and that we can continue to show our support and help to provide for the sons of Missy Wylie.

Missy will be missed
Sweet Missy is a bright and shining Light that darkness cannot dim; in our hearts and our memories, she is shining still.
In Loving Memory of Melissa Helen Davis Wylie
Missy was taken from us on February 13, 2009.
I met her at Columbo’s back when they were on the frontage road in Clemson, in an old Diary Queen kinda place. We ate there every Friday night, as did many other folks. It was a family oriented place.
After Columbo’s moved into the BiLo shopping center, I worked with Missy opening the restaurant everyday. I would bake bread while she made dough. We would get the place ready for the day. We often made bacon-cheese bread for our lunch or loaded pizza pies. These would be small pan pizzas with our favorite toppings, lotsa cheese and a crust on top. Sometimes, we would trade pizza for yogurt from Dr. C’s which was next door. This was a wonderful job because I had such a fun and kind co-worker.
Over the years, whenever we’d meet up, we’d hug and catch up on the latest news. It might be in Columbo’s, at the grocery store, in town somewhere or even at Spitoono. We’d talk about our kids, our family, what was new; I loved those moments of serendipity.
The news of her tragic death continues to astound us. Her funeral service was lovely but so sad. The only good thing I came away with was the fullness of love that others have for this good woman and her sons.
